Product Development Manager

At Everlane, we’re rethinking the way retail works. We have no physical stores, no middlemen taking their cut and no crazy brand markups. Instead, we design our own luxury basics and sell them exclusively at Everlane.com. Since launching in November 2011, Everlane has attracted over 400,000 members and has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Economist, Elle, and GQ.

We are looking for a Product Development Manager to oversee all steps of product development for our apparel and accessories collections. Our product development team works in rapid iteration, quickly creating technical packages and sampling them to get products to market in less than three months. You’ll manage the development process and team, then coordinate development of selected designs with a multitude of factories both domestic and overseas. In certain cases, you will follow product development through actual production. This is a highly entrepreneurial role that requires a driven and organized individual.

  • Oversee product development for our apparel and accessories
  • Keep track of all developments and ensure timely deliveries based on production and merchandising calendar
  • Develop and manage relationships with domestic and overseas factories
  • Communicate with factories for timely delivery of samples
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources based on time, cost, quality, and efficiency
  • Work closely with production team to ensure timely delivery
  • Create detailed calendars and sampling overviews in Excel for weekly review

Qualifications:

  • 6 years minimum experience with a premier fashion or private label
  • Entrepreneurial and driven attitude with a creative bend
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment to meet monthly production
  • Experience with technical design and unique ability to get samples right on the first or second try
  • Great communication and organization skills
  • Advance experience with Excel
  • Relationships with top domestic and overseas factories
